FACILITATION SKILLS
Facilitation is a process in which an independent and impartial resource assists a group to clarify the objective of the meeting and to assist in creating a plan to achieve the objective.
The facilitator should also help the group to “clear the air”, refocus, and revitalize.
Facilitator roles, perspectives, activities; identifying personality types; coping with conflicts; getting consensus; gaining commitment to contribution
Learning Outcomes:
- Visual – Body Language, Visual Aids
- Vocal – Voice Projection, Clarity of Speech, Energy and Enthusiasm, Qualifying (Listening Skills)
- Verbal – Content, Choice of Words, Pronunciation
- Control – Confidence, Focus, Control Strategies, Conflict Resolution
Results of good facilitation:

- Trust levels shift and adversaries become friends

PROGRAM METHODOLOGY
CDC use a variety of interactive methods of facilitation: Role-Plays, Group Discussions, Presentations, Problem-Solving, Delegates are continually involved right from day one of the program in a variety of individual, pair and group activities. CDC training philosophy advocates that constant involvement in a variety of stimulating and relevant activities facilitates real long-lasting learning.
BACKGROUND ON FACILITATOR
HEATHER EGLING has two Diplomas in Leadership Major (3years full time study). She has a certificate from UNISA for HIV/AIDS Care and Counselling. She has a certificate in Counselling (internationally recognised) She also has a certificate from WITS (Post graduate Studies Faculty of Health Sciences for Proposal Writing (short course) She is currently studying a BA in Education and Psychology. She will continue to study and complete a doctorate in Education. Heather found that her passion was for teaching including facilitating. A good teacher learns from their students. A good students assists his fellow student.
Her extensive lecturing and training includes many years of marketing and business skills. She has lectured children, student teachers, teachers, professors and doctors and community workers including Pastors and some laypeople all at different venues over the past two years. Students and those attending her classes have developed well due to her excellent facilitation skills which enables her students and business people attending the classes or workshops to walk away fulfilled due having taken part personally in all the training. She expects the people attending to learn from each other and in turn she learns from them. Research of articles and any un touched areas in leadership is her forte.
She has recently designed four programs for self empowerment:

Leadership Dynamics: Which leadership style are you? Is a manager and a leader the same office?

R 625 per person per day for 20 x candidates over 2 x days will be R25000.00
