Module 1 Coaching for Performance Leadership Skills - 1 day
Coaching is a concept which the business world adopted from the sports scene. If correctly applied and understood, coaching is a unique leadership skill which is a healthy, positive and enabling process that transforms people to higher levels of competence. It differs from training, mentoring and counselling. It takes place within formal as well as informal settings. This practical course will equip delegates with the knowledge to understand what coaching is and how it differs from other development interventions. It will also equip delegates with practical coaching skills. Learning Outcomes

Module 2 Motivating and Empowering Individuals and Teams – 1 day Many leaders do not know the difference between moving subordinates and motivating them. Failure to understand these concepts has lead to more confusion about the whole issue of motivation than anything else. In a survey carried out in the UK, which included 500 of the top 1000 businesses, it was found that 95% of those companies that responded, felt that their staff could be more motivated. This practical workshop will equip leaders to understand what the concept ’motivation’ entails, and will equip them with the knowledge and skills to facilitate intrinsic motivation in others. Module 3
Leading and facilitating business meetings and Teamwork Activities - 1 x day Business meetings are both costly and essential. Managers spend approximately 20 – 30% of their working hours in meetings. Many spend more than half their time attending or leading meetings. Although costly, productive meetings provide many benefits. Meetings can be a fast and effective tool for balancing competing interest, for deciding on important issues, generating strategies and action plans, and for co-ordinating and monitoring of activities. This programme also enables leaders to facilitate the completion of workplace activities within agreed time frames, and to display the appropriate leadership style based on the demands of the situation. Understanding the three different types of meetings:
• Information-giving• Information-taking • Problem-solving and action planning • Planning the meeting • Arranging the meeting • Compilation of Agenda • Choice of location • Selection of participants • Using an agenda • Starting the meeting (atmosphere, welcoming, up to date, purpose) Managing the meeting process:
