PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS
NATURE AND FOCUS OF THE PROGRAMME
“If I never had a problem, I’d never know I could solve them”, goes the adage. In many cases, people who believe they lack problem-solving ability may merely lack confidence.
Knowing how to approach problems with a simple, tried-and-tested methodology gives people confidence because they can apply the same toolset to a variety of situations and at the very least can arrive at an accurate definition of the problem, a prerequisite to finding lasting solutions.
This program focuses on the Eli Goldratt approach, using simple thinking tools to gain a clear understanding of the problem, develop possible alternatives, and deliver carefully-planned implementations. Real-world scenarios from delegate’s work environment are used in exercises so that relevance is ensured.
